Bahrain Intercepts Iranian Missiles, Drones Targeting Civilian Sites
In an official statement, the Defense Force accused Iran of persisting in its "hostile approach" by launching coordinated missile and drone strikes deliberately aimed at "civilian" facilities on Bahraini soil.
Authorities moved swiftly to issue public safety guidance, urging residents to exercise caution and refrain from approaching or handling any suspicious objects or debris linked to the attacks. The statement further called on citizens to report any such discoveries to authorities without delay.
No immediate information regarding casualties or infrastructure damage resulting from the strikes was made available.
The assault on Bahrain follows a rapidly escalating chain of retaliatory exchanges across the region. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) earlier Wednesday claimed responsibility for strikes on US military bases in Kuwait, framing the attack as direct retaliation for an American strike on Qeshm Island in southern Iran.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) subsequently issued its own account of the overnight barrage, stating that "two Iranian missiles fired at Kuwait fell short or broke apart enroute, and three missiles launched at Bahrain were immediately intercepted by US and Bahrain air defense forces."
